Why “price hike” during the Spring Festival?

According to the Analysis Report on the Difficulties in Car-Hailing in 2019 jointly issued by Amap and the Institute of social China Academy of Social Science, the ten most difficult days in 2019 are basically holidays, of which the Spring Festival accounts for 6 days.

According to big data analysts, the demand for travel is large during holidays, and some online car hailing drivers choose to rest on holidays, resulting in the shortage of supply and the difficulty of taking a taxi, as well as illegal vehicles appearing up.

According to Zhuhai Transportation Bureau, the trial implementation of the temporary pricing can reduce illegal vehicles to a certain extent and avoid conflicts between drivers and passengers. As for this, many people have shown understanding and tolerance, believing that the “price hike” during the Spring Festival is an affirmation and respect to taxi drivers for their work during the festival.
